Portraits

My goal is to capture real people in real life settings with authentic expressions.  I enjoy getting to know and photograph people of all ages and seasons of life – children, families, expectant mothers, newborns, high school graduates, and senior citizens.  I photograph on location in places that have meaning for you and your family – any one of our beautiful local parks, Historic Battlefields, the scenic Rappahannock River, or your very own backyard.

I prefer to make pictures using natural light, best in the early morning and late afternoon, to create a soft and natural glow in your photographs. Most people are relaxed and happy when they are doing something they enjoy, so photo sessions may include friends, pets, and symbols of favorite hobbies such as a musical instrument, soccer ball, or favorite toy.  I specialize in images that capture something meaningful in candid, casual photographs of everyday moments.  I use a digital SLR camera (Canon 50D).

We do not take pictures with a camera, but our hearts...

Note Cards

I discover visual interest and beauty everywhere I go.   I take walks with my camera in hand, exploring city streets, farms, gardens, markets, and parks.  I appreciate and really care about this world and its people.  I search with patience and persistence, and I find pictures hidden like treasure.  To share these photos of found beauty, I offer a line of handmade photo note cards.  The greeting cards come in two sizes, 3 ½ × 5 and 5 × 7 inches.  Photos are matted on colored cardstock and mounted on textured white cards with a deckle edge.  Each photo note card and envelope is packaged in a clear protective closure bag.

Photography is savoring life at 1/100th of a second.

Camera Kindness

It is my privilege to be kind and caring with my camera by serving and sharing.  Taking photos for community service brings joy to my heart.

Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.  Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.
